Caroline Lloyd (aka The Grief Geek) and I have developed the training ‘Grief foundations for funeral professionals’. In this training you will learn what grief is and how to support the bereaved. The training offers a mix of theory, interactive discussions and exercises. The training is aimed at professionals who work with the bereaved. You either are keen to gain (more) knowledge about bereavement support or you would like to refresh your knowledge and enhance your skills.
Why this training?
Funeral professionals work closely with the bereaved. They support grieving families in funeral planning, the funeral, and the after care. Understanding how people grieve and how to communicate with the bereaved will help funeral professionals provide families the support and service that is right for them.
What will I learn?
This interactive and engaging course provides funeral professionals with an understanding of different types of grief and how they affect people handle loss. Participants will learn how to communicate with the bereaved and they will gain some practical tips on how to support them.
After this course you will be able to:

- Apply contemporary grief models
- Adapt your communication style to the grieving style of the bereaved
